My Favorite Productivity Tools to Get Work Done

I use these tools every day to make my job easier. A lot of these tools were recommended to me by fellow small business owners when I was first starting out while others I found on a billboard—either way these tools have saved me over 100+ hours a month which allows me to work on my business instead of in my business.

I may get a small commission for sharing some of these tools at no additional cost to you. But I love and use each of these tools every day to simplify my life as a solopreneur—and I hope you will too.

ClickUp

ClickUp is my favorite non-analytics tool, and I tell everyone I know to try it out. ClickUp is a project management tool that prides itself in being the “one app to replace them all”, and in my opinion—they’re pretty close to their goal.

Context switching can eat up a lot of time—and cognitive load. In fact, Gerald Weinberg found that we can lose around 20% of our cognitive ability after context switching between just two projects—and that’s where an all-in-one tool comes to the rescue!

With ClickUp, I increase my productivity by:

  • Taking advantage of their integrations with my other tools like Gmail, OneDrive, Google Drive, Jira, and Tableau

  • Prioritizing my personal and client tasks, content ideas, and more

  • Emailing clients withing ClickUp instead of going to my email app

  • Taking meeting notes in the Docs functionality and making the action items tasks for the proper team member

  • Using the web, desktop, and mobile apps to keep me productive on the go

Check out ClickUp, and get ready to save one day a week with a more streamlined workflow.

HoneyBook

HoneyBook is a powerful CRM (customer relationship management) tool that helps me book clients, automate contract creation, send forms and questionnaires, and collect payments—saving me an average of 112 hours a month.

With HoneyBook, I can create project and booking workflows that I then create automations for so that I can consistently show up as my best self whenever potential clients reach out—even when I’m on vacation or sick. It’s like having a sales team AND an assistant all while working as a solopreneur.

If you’re ready to save hours on your client booking and management process, use my HoneyBook discount code to save 25% for one year.

Canva

Canva is the design bestie you never knew you needed!

If you’re artistically challenged like me, or just want to save time on your website and social media graphics—Canva is the design bestie you never knew you needed.

Canva is a design platform that allows you to create professional designs without any design experience. I use it for all of my social media graphics, PowerPoint presentations, website images, and more. Simply choose from their thousands of templates, or create your own design using their pre-built design dimensions to take the guesswork out of which dimensions are best for which online platform.

Squarespace

Squarespace makes it easy for non-web developers to create a beautiful website that makes ecommerce and lead gen simple.

When I first created Taylored Data, I explored using another WYSIWYG editor to create my website, but their endless customization options made it difficult to create my website and get on with the business of what I really wanted to focus on—digital analytics!

A friend recommended Squarespace and I used the 14 day free trial to create my website in a couple of days vs. the month I spent using the other tool.

If you’re stuck in the design process like I was, I recommend exploring their website templates and choose the one that best suits your business model to jumpstart your website design.
